Can you really make swimwear from recycled plastic?
When it came to choosing the fabrics for our Bon+Co swimwear, we wanted to be part of a change in how the fashion sector operates, and where possible, source sustainable swimwear fabrics that help us to walk a little lighter on our planet. After months of research, we were so excited to learn some of the amazing products that are being developed around the world!
With overuse and poor disposal of plastics long being one of the largest environmental dilemmas our globe faces, we were thrilled to get our hands on REPREVE fabric, made from recycled plastic bottles that were otherwise destined for landfill!
REPREVE sustainable yarns are made using techniques that emit fewer greenhouse gases and conserve water and energy in the process.
All of our Bon+Co swimwear fabrics are carefully treated for resistance to chorine, resistance to pilling, and also offering an SPF50+ rating to help protect our kids skin. They hold colour beautifully, and to touch…. they feel ah-ma-zing!
